PHILOSOPHY

I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 20 years of experience working in healthcare organizations providing behavioral health, primary care, and multispecialty services. My experience includes working with conditions such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, ADHD, bipolar, PTSD, psychosis and substance use disorders. I am particularly passionate about the treatment of anxiety disorders, including social and performance anxiety. I have a special interest in providing care for individuals experiencing life transitions, co-occurring medical and psychiatric illness, and treating the depressive symptoms of loss of interest and problems with concentration and motivation. I create an environment for therapeutic relationships that is free of judgement and aimed at empowering individuals to improve mental and physical wellness.

I have additional training and certification through the Neuroscience Education Institute. This allows me to provide medication management that is personalized, current, and evidenced based. I promote wellness by offering supportive therapy, brief solution focused therapy, and motivational interviewing. In addition to medication management and psychotherapy, I help individuals to experience improved quality of life by offering nutritional education and support, a focus on improved sleep, and promoting healthy relationships.

I have lived and worked in Central Oregon for 20 years. Prior to living in Oregon, I lived in California, Alaska, and Vermont. I enjoy traveling internationally with the intention of gaining a deeper understanding of and connection to our global community. My favorite activities include hiking at Smith Rock State Park, road biking, painting with my friends and family, and reading.
