Therapy Dog Services at Pacific Northwest Psychiatry Associates

At Pacific Northwest Psychiatry Associates, we understand that seeking psychiatric care and attending therapy can sometimes bring up feelings of vulnerability, stress, or anxiety. To foster a warm, grounding, and supportive environment, we are proud to offer Canine-Assisted Support featuring our resident therapy dogs, Lulu and Cece.

Meet Lulu & Cece: Our Canine Ambassadors of Comfort

Lulu and Cece have been carefully bred and trained for therapeutic companionship, combining the best qualities of gentle, companion breeds to create an ideal therapy partner:

  • Tranquil & Soothing Demeanor: Drawing from their gentle lineage (including the calm, laid-back nature of the Shih Tzu and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel), Lulu and Cece provide a tranquil, comforting presence that helps lower anxiety from the moment you step into our clinic.

  • Intuitive Emotional Intelligence: Highly perceptive of emotional cues, both Lulu and Cece have an innate ability to "read the room." Whether you need a soft cuddle, a quiet presence by your side, or a gentle touch to help you ground yourself, they instinctively offer connection when it is needed most.

  • Warm & Approachable Spirit: With their cheerful, affectionate nature, Lulu and Cece naturally lighten the atmosphere and build a bridge of trust and comfort during your visit.

  • Low-Shedding & Hypoallergenic-Friendly: Their soft, fluffy coats make them ideal cuddlers while keeping client comfort and allergies in mind.

Ways to Experience Therapy Dog Support

In-Session Companionship: Request Lulu or Cece to join your appointment. They can sit quietly on the floor nearby or rest their head on your lap during your session.

Your Comfort & Preferences Come First

While Lulu and Cece love providing affection, their presence is completely optional. We strictly respect every patient's comfort level, health needs, and personal preferences. Therapy dog sessions are only when requested by the patient.

Interested in having Lulu or Cece join your next appointment? Mention your request when scheduling with PNW Psychiatry Associates and we will do our best to accommodate your appointment time.
