PHILOSOPHY
Hi, I’m Rachelle, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner student completing my final clinical rotation here at Pacific Northwest Psychiatry Associates. I’ve been a registered nurse since 2017 and currently work at Hooper Detox, where I support individuals experiencing addiction, many of whom also face challenges related to housing instability, justice involvement, and survival. I see this work as an invitation to be present with others in the truth of who they are, with reverence for their story. Before becoming a nurse, I spent 17 years working in communal spaces centered around shared food and connection. It was there that I learned how to anticipate needs, listen closely, and serve with care. That spirit of service still guides me today.
My approach to care is rooted in warmth, curiosity, and deep respect for each person’s lived experience. I strive to create a grounded, welcoming space where those I support feel safe to explore their inner world at their own pace. Celebrating diversity of thought, identity, and being is central to how I practice. I believe that healing unfolds through presence, connection, and the courage to be seen, and that each person already holds the wisdom they need to heal. As a student clinician, I bring a spirit of humility, openness, and a deep commitment to learning.
BIO.
Oregon-grown and curious by nature, I spend my time outside of work and study wandering forest trails, exploring new neighborhoods, or sharing quiet moments with my two rescue chihuahuas, Bean and Xolo. I brought Xolo home after finding him as a puppy in Oaxaca, and he’s been a soulful little companion ever since. Bean is small and deeply opinionated, but endlessly devoted. I live with my partner and am a proud bonus mom, relationships that continue to expand my heart and perspective. I find meaning in exploring nature, caring for animals, and staying open to life’s deeper questions.
