PHILOSOPHY

As my patient, I care about you as a whole person. I practice empathetic, non-judgmental listening, a skill which I have honed over 25+ years of working in health care. Carefully listening to your needs with a collaborative spirit is one of my strengths. During our first visit, I will perform a comprehensive psychiatric assessment to help you understand what your symptoms mean and how they can be managed with psychiatric medication, lifestyle changes, or a combination of both. Whether this is your first time seeking care or if you have already experienced years of psychiatric care, we will evaluate your symptoms as they present today and look for ways to move forward productively. In order to better serve my patients, I am always looking for ways to improve my practice skills with continuing education courses and collaboration with my peers.

I believe that considering the whole individual and integrating exercise, nutrition, lifestyle habits and managing life circumstances are important. Supportive therapy, motivational interviewing and other brief therapeutic interventions are part of my care, alongside medication management. I appreciate any interest you may have in alternative or adjunctive treatments and will provide support for those as appropriate.
 

 

BIO

I am a native Oregonian, having lived here for most of my life. I enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, walking, and flower gardening. I also enjoy indoor activities like reading, knitting, and playing video games. My dog, Bailey, is my best friend, and we love going on adventures together. I love the Oregon Coast, and visiting the ocean anywhere in the world brings me profound joy.
